Sport & Slam Poet
The year 8 tennis was played in perfect conditions at Fosterville Gold tennis centre in Bendigo. Castlemaine got off to an excellent start defeating BSE 3 sets to love with Olivia Campbell and Rebecca Crowhurst winning 6-0. The next match was much tougher against Girton, where all pairs lost but enjoyed solid hitting against the Girton players. Salina Carlisle and Maya Neale held their own against East Loddon in the third match, going down 6-4, but Castlemaine lost the 3 sets. All three pairs had a win against Marist, with Ebony Penny and Dani Penrose posting their first victory 6-2. Unfortunately, our last opposition were Catherine Macauley College, who went on to win the event and their strong combination won all three sets against Castlemaine. Castlemaine finished 4th overall.
