Classroom News - Year 1
Mrs Suluma and Mrs Bible
We are reviewing that the bossy 'e' makes vowel sounds long. Year 1 is currently learning Tricky words set 9 and please continue to revise Tricky words from sets 1-8.
In Maths, we reviewed shapes and students enjoyed creating different shapes using paddle pop sticks, geoboards and rubber bands.
We are also revisiting addition and subtraction where we continue to use different strategies to solve problems.
In Religion, we listened to and shared parables. We are currently listening and familiarising ourselves with some of the stories of God's people in the Bible such as the story of Joseph and Moses. Please take the time to share other bible stories with your child or children.
In Science, we learned about The Night Sky, When Seasons Change and are currently learning about The Changing Weather. Students got creative by designing, naming and creating their own constellations.
We have enjoyed learning different skills in gymnastics and sadly this week is our last week. We would like to thank Mr and Mrs O'Hara for the educational and fun routines we were able to take part in during our sessions. Year 1 has definitely up-leveled their social and physical skills.
