Geography - Cultural Diversity

We are learning about: Cultural Diversity of Food

Next week we will be completing a project on exploring the cultural diversity of food across Asia. We are asking that you do a small home learning task.

In Literacy, the students will learn the text structure of 'Sequence' and the difference between this and 'Chronology'.

We are asking that between now and next Tuesday you as a family

  1. Research a Traditional Asian dish that you are able to cook
  2. Cook the dish and take photos of each step
  3. Email the photos to your child's email so that can be used in writing next week
  4. Email the recipe that they used with the photos
  5. Enjoy a cooked meal by your child!

Maths

We are learning about: Decimals

Over the past three weeks we have covered: place value in decimal numbers, addition and subtraction with decimals and multiplication and division with decimals. This week we are working to understand the relationships between fractions, decimals and percentages.  An example of this is 0.5 = 1/2 = 50% and students will then go on to apply this learning to discounts and the use of money.
