The students continue their journey of using their reading and writing skills to explore the big idea of 'Geographical Diversity'. We have had some dress up moments to assist us with our Descriptive writing and Compare and Contrast writing. We have unpacked lots of different texts that require us to apply a variety of comprehension skills such as Predicting, Connecting, Comparing, Visualising. Our week will wrap up with the concluding task of the Speech for the St Joseph's School Cup.
Next week we will be completing a project on exploring the cultural diversity of food across Asia. We are asking that you do a small home learning task.
In Literacy, the students will learn the text structure of 'Sequence' and the difference between this and 'Chronology'.
We are asking that between now and next Tuesday you as a family
Over the past three weeks we have covered: place value in decimal numbers, addition and subtraction with decimals and multiplication and division with decimals. This week we are working to understand the relationships between fractions, decimals and percentages. An example of this is 0.5 = 1/2 = 50% and students will then go on to apply this learning to discounts and the use of money.
Gymnastics continues to be a highlight of the week with students making use of the new trampolines to complete a circuit that focused on the aerial abilities.
