Deputy Principals' Report

Report from our Deputy Principals: Rachel Hamilton Smith & Judy Smith

A Message from our Deputy Principals

Hello from your two ‘not-so-new’ Deputies.

We are Rachel and Judy, the two Deputy Principals who began working at Holy Spirit at the start of the year.  Term 1 got off to a fast paced start, as we settled in to our new positions and started to get to know the community. Putting names to faces of students, staff and families was one of our earliest goals. Thanks to everyone who has stopped to say hello or made us feel welcome with a smile. Some people did comment that it was easy to get us mixed up, as we are both of similar height and had similar hairstyles. You may be pleased to know that over the holidays, we have both had a trim and we should be easier to tell us apart….for now.

With one term down, we thought it was a good time to get to know us a little better.

What have I learnt since arriving at HSI have learnt that this is a strong community that has a friendly and welcoming nature. Parents and teachers work together to ensure children have opportunities to learn in safe and supported environments. The students are caring and look out for each other too.I have been impressed with the real sense of community and welcome at the school, and have seen this in students, staff and families alike. The staff show an amazing amount of care and compassion for our students and I see them working tirelessly to make things the best they can be for them.
