Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear parents, friends and Father Arsenio

It was wonderful to welcome prospective parents to our information night last week and the school tours this week. After having gone so long without this it was a breath of fresh air to welcome people back. With this in mind we are slowly working out the best way to have you, our current parent back at school as well. Kayla and Judy will shortly be running parent helper courses and as part of this will outline how we can phase this back in. Assemblies will be shifting back inside the hall and until number restrictions further ease, we may have to restrict attendance to parents whose children are receiving awards. A dojo message will go out once I have received further advice.

Once again, I appreciate your understanding in relation to the upcoming closure days. This Friday staff will be unpacking the data from the ‘Enhancing Catholic Schools Identity surveys (ECSI) that you completed last year. This data will better help us identify how best to implement the teaching and learning of an appropriate RE curriculum relevant to our community.

On Monday staff will be preparing information relevant to our cyclical school review which is scheduled for August. Further details about the review will be forthcoming closer to August when the external reviewer has articulated the groups she would like to meet with.

This weekend we begin our Confirmation program with a series of commitment masses. Once again it is wonderful to be able to do this and I am looking forward to attending Confirmation with the students at St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Later in the term we are hosting a number of Work experience students. It is wonderful to think these ex-students want to return to our school to find out more about teaching.

Have a great week

Duncan
