Driving Safely on School Grounds and in Surrounding Roads

In recent days I have had some reports from other parents and a concerned neighbour about the driving practices within the school grounds and also in the surrounding streets in the Providence estate. We all want our students to be safe on the roads and this requires paying attention to the road rules and signage. As parents you should be modelling to your children good practices. Remember that it is what your child observes you doing that sticks, not necessarily what you say. I implore  you to be the best role models for your children. This means driving to the speed limit, parking in the correct spaces, being patient and cautious at peak pick up and drop off times and keeping off your phones. Everyone working together on this make the school grounds and surrounds safe places.

Student Activities

Rehearsals for the College Musical, 'The Addams Family' and the Middle School Play, 'Peter Pan' are in full swing. I encourage families to get involved in supporting the students. Lots of sports teams have been competing in interschool sport, the debaters went to round 2 of Galway debating and the Dunhelen Athletics carnival was held in beautiful weather. The hospitality group have been offering morning café in the Food Studies Centre, our wonderful Parents and Friends Association ran the Mothers Day stall for students on Thursday and we celebrated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) week, with activities that were run by students planned across most lunchtimes.

Happy Mothers Day

Wishing all the mums, grandmothers, aunts, sisters a Happy Mothers Day. Enjoy your special day!
