Year 9 Music have been busy preparing their first performance assessment. Well done everyone for preparing your performances and getting up in front of your peers. This is not easy! We have heard performances such as “Wonderwall”, “You Give Love A Bad Name” and “Colours Of The Wind”. Year 9 students also performed as a class at Open Night

YEAR 10

Year 10 Music performed, created and listened to Classical Music repertoire throughout the term. They performed an arrangement of Canon Rock which is based on Canon in D by Pachelbel and investigated the periods of music in a student centred research task. Thank you to the Elective Music students who performed at the Parish and Opening Masses as well as at Open Night during the term.

YEAR 11

Year 11 Music have been composing musical arrangements. Students have been able to choose between “You Give Love A Bad Name” and “Let It Be”. We look forward to hearing the end results and the different ways that these songs will be arranged.

YEAR 12

Year 12 Music entertained the whole school at the opening College assembly during Term 1 with their arrangement of “Sweet Child O’ Mine”. Students have been performing, listening and analysing songs from ABBA as part of their 20th and 21st Century Music topic and performed “Dancing Queen” and “Money, Money, Money” as a whole class ensemble. Students have been selecting and performing pieces in preparation for their upcoming practical HSC examination. We look forward to hearing some of the HSC music performances later in the year.
