GIRLS CAMP IN HARRIETVILLE

Year 10 girls recently traveled to Harrietville in Victoria for their Year 10 Camp. The Camp’s theme was “Hear Me”. The girls had a unique opportunity to explore feminine spirituality and their relationship with God. The program allowed students to consider their beliefs and values in relation to self-concept; caring for self and others; exploring the concept of strength and resilience and outdoor team building activities.

“For Me the Camp was an enriching experience which gave me the opportunity to better appreciate the talents and personalities of the girls in our year. It was a time where we could all escape the business of our lives and be ourselves, as well as face our fears through the activities I'm sure many people wouldn't have dared to try before. I was not only able to develop a better relationship with others, but also with myself through the meditation and affirmations. It is definitely an experience I will never forget.” Elora Guirguis

BOYS CAMP IN KOSCIUSZKO NATIONAL PARK

Year 10 Boys spent time away at Magpie Flat, in Kosciuszko National Park, to dedicate the time and space necessary to develop their spirituality. In the current social climate, the College felt it especially important for our boys to be involved in activities that developed their empathy, gratitude, and social responsibility. They were also called upon to evaluate their own active role in making wise and fruitful decisions.

PROJECT COMPASSION "BE MORE"

During this season of Lent, we have been preparing for Easter by praying, giving up things we like and serving our neighbours both near and far. One way that we have done this is through our support for Project Compassion, so that we can give to those in need.

A sincere thank you to the Mater Dei community and congratulations to Mrs Fellow’s, Sherrin 4 Homegroup who raised a total of $360.55. A big congratulations to our winning house Rosarie House. As a College we raised a total of $2749.30

EASTER RAFFLE

Thank you to our families that have helped with the Easter Raffle through donating prizes and buying tickets. Our College raised a total of $1436.00 towards Micah House in Wagga Wagga. We were able to provide more than 50 prizes from our donations. Thank you Mater Dei.

HOLY WEEK

This week we remember the suffering and death of Jesus. As we reflect on his suffering, we also call to mind the suffering we see in the world around us. Let us reflect:

  • Where do you see suffering in your world or our community?
  • How do you show God’s love to someone who is suffering?
  • When does loving someone cause suffering?
  • What do you think Jesus’ suffering teaches us?

Let us Pray…

We remember you, Lord, as we join with you on this journey.

The mystery of your suffering, death and resurrection are at the centre of the Good News.

The call is to live as you taught.

Guide us to: learn about our brothers and sisters who experience hardship; act with love and unity to help them rise above their difficulties; and pray for people of the world to recognise God’s presence in everyone. Amen.
