Reservoir High School Re-build

Reservoir High School is in the middle of a 4 stage re-build of our school. The stages of our rebuild are-

Pre Stage 1- Demolition of the Original C Block ($3.3million)

Pre-Stage 1 was funded in 2019 and completed in 2020. This saw the school demolish most of the original C Block and construct  a new Senior School building. The new Senior Building features climate control throughout, new Senior toilets, Outdoor Learning spaces, break out learning spaces and a new Senior Locker bay area. The new learning spaces support flexible learning opportunities, but are not open planned classrooms. with sound proof classes and removable walls, the space operates a discreet classrooms to support student curriculum choice, but can also be converted into larger learning spaces as well as an Exam centre.

Stage 1- New Visual Arts and Food Technology Centre ($4.6 million)

Stage 1 was funded in 2021 and construction will start in June on our new Centre for Visual Arts and Food Technology. Featuring two commercial grade kitchens, new teaching spaces for Visual Arts and Media, new individual toilets  and an Art Gallery, we are very much looking forward to having creative learning spaces to match the talents and efforts of our students. The centre is due to be completed in March 2023.

Stage 2- Science and Technology Centre ($9million)

Stage 2 was funded in the 2022 State Government budget. Architects are about to be appointed and then staff and students will be involved in designing our new Science and technology learning spaces.

Grounds improvement

Reservoir High has exceptional sporting facilities. The 4 internal courts of the Darebin Community Sports Stadium are school property and leased to the Darebin Council for after school and weekend use. The 4 courts are exceptional and used by multiple Basketball teams, families for Gymbaroo and other users for either Badminton, Volleyball or Futsal.

External Netball and Multipurpose courts- Completed in 2021

The addition of 5 external courts behind the Stadium were completed in 2021. Three of the courts are multi-purpose courts, and two courts are utilised as Competition grade Netball only courts. These courts are also well used by our community sporting groups after school and on weekends.

Refurbished External Basketball Courts

Construction has begun on two new external basketball courts and a Futsal pitch on the rear courts along Nicholson street. Due for completion in Term 3, these courts will be used both for timetabled PE classes and by students during break times. Further Downball/Handball courts will also be added to the school as part of this project.

Outdoor undercover learning and social spaces

The school has received funding from the State Government to install all-weather Shade Sails to create undercover learning spaces. Construction is due to start this term with the first undercover area going in next to the Senior School.

This month we also received confirmation from Ged Kearney MP, Federal Government Member for Cooper that a further $50000 has been provided to construct more undercover seating for student use at recess and lunch time. Planning has begun for this project.
