Stronger Me, Stronger Us,

Program for First Nations Students

This year at Reservoir High School, our new Aboriginal Program Leader Ms Swain and our Koori Educator Ms Hazlett have organised the Stronger Me, Stronger Us Program and the Yarning Up Strong Program for our First Nations students.

Within the Stronger Me, Stronger Us program, students from Years 7 to 12 students have been learning how to develop strong and healthy relationships and how to stay safe. Students have partaken in traditional Aboriginal customs such as smoking ceremonies and yarn circles.

The Yarning Up Strong Program aims to help our young women feel proud and teaches them to look after their own wellbeing. Students learn breathing and meditation techniques as well as healing activities like painting and weaving.

Both programs will continue to run throughout Term 2.
