Captains Corner

My name is Nimmer, and I am one of your school vice-captains. I look back at this term with pride. It has been a great term full of excitement. So many things have happened this term, including our swimming program, round-robin, Easter stall, and many other activities.

At the very start of this term, we had our little preps join our GWPS community. It was such an exciting experience for all the preps.

Early on this term, we had our swimming program. It was an exciting experience for all of our learners from prep to 6. We went to the Swim World for half an hour of swimming lessons three times a week for two weeks. It was fun to get in the water and improve our swimming skills. On the other side of the scale, the learners who chose to stay at school learned about water safety.

Then we had the Year Six round-robin. We came third as first place was tied. We competed in multiple sports activities such as softball, t-ball, Danish rounders, tennis, and cricket. All these activities were lots of fun, and we tried our best. We prepared for this for seven weeks, and then on the eighth week of term, we went to Ashwood High School to compete against other primary schools. This was an excellent opportunity for our year six students.

At the end of March, the Victorian State School Spectacular students for mass dance went to Mont Albert Primary School to rehearse with a couple of other schools. We also had our Black Friday Easter stall to raise money for the royal children's hospital. In total, $258 was raised. It is a great effort, and I would like to thank all of the students who made this possible.

Overall it has been a great term full of excitement.  I’m looking forward to starting a new term after a two-week break. Thank you for taking the time to read through this, and please have a wonderful holiday.

Thanks

Nimmer
