WELCOME NIGHTS
It has been fantastic to see so many families from our Early Years, Upper Middle Years and Senior Years joining us over the past two weeks for their 'Welcome Nights'. The last of the welcome nights for our Lower-Middle Years unit will be rescheduled from Thursday 24th March to a later date. After COVID-19 restrictions, it has been exciting to welcome families back in to see classrooms, meet with staff and other families and enjoy time together in person!
SCHOOL COUNCIL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
At our AGM on Tuesday night Di Steven was re-elected as our President and we also appointed Alicia Silvera as our Vice President. Jesse Whittaker is our Secretary and Angela Buxton our Treasurer. We thank our outgoing members for their time on School Council; Ian Moorhouse, Georgia Bell, Sarah Keenan, Simone Masters, Esther Moorhouse and Thomas Sauiluma. We have three great new parent representatives joining our team also; Linda Ibbotson, Lauren Harris and Natasha Ahmat and our School Captains Jedd Ring, Shayla Bryant and Vice Captains Bella Gordon and Nate Taintey.
Our Annual Report was also presented to council and will be made available at the Office and via Seesaw. This report summarises the progress made by Verney Road School in 2021. There were many great points of success in this report and it is great to see our school continuing to support student pathways very successfully, despite the backdrop of COVID-19.
School Council also reviewed a number of policies of Tuesday night. Our Privacy Policy which outlines how we store and when we share student information was ratified.
Our Mobile Phones in School Policy was also reviewed and added 'smart watches' with cellular capacity as items that cannot be used during the school day. The link to both policies is below and are available on the school's website.
