First Aid

First Aid

To assist all staff to care for your child’s existing medical conditions please ensure you provide the College with an up to date care or management plan from your treating doctor.

Specific medical conditions such as anaphylaxis, asthma, epilepsy, haemophilia and diabetes must have a medical action plan attached on Operoo. For other conditions such as cardiac related or any other medical condition which may require information or treatment outside of standard first aid procedures please upload a medical treatment plan from your Specialist or treating doctor on Operoo.

Prior to any camp or excursion if your child has anaphylaxis we encourage you to make contact firstly with the homeroom teacher to discuss your child’s dietary requirements.

Asthma is a serious condition especially over the cooler months. Please ensure your child carries his ventolin and has a current asthma care plan on Operoo. The asthma care plans are required to be reviewed yearly by your treating doctor.

If your child is feeling unwell with cold symptoms even with a negative rat test they should remain at home until they feel well enough to come to school.

If your child is a close contact of a Positive Covid case:

  • notify the school they are a close contact
  • undertake daily rapid antigen testing five times within the 7 days
  • wear a face covering when indoors if aged over 8 or unless they have a valid exemption

For our wider school community please continue to wash your hands to help reduce the transmission of cold viruses.

If you require further information or need to discuss your child’s health care needs please contact Michelle Butler First Aid at Mentone or Natalie Cardamone at Bentleigh East.
