Music

In the last week of Term One, the Music Department held the Annual Autumn Concert.

We were delighted to have music students and ensembles perform to an audience of family and friends.

The Drumline opened the evening with a wonderful display of choreographed beats and rhythms, followed by the Junior Concert Band with students from Years 8 and 9 performing for the very first time.

Two VCE groups performed as well as soloists preparing for their end of year performance.  We were graced with a beautiful piece of music from our Vocal Ensemble featuring two of our Year 12 Soloists Luke Meo and College Captain, Leighton Miller.  We also featured our VCE Saxophone Quartet and the Saxophone Ensemble who performed several pieces including an arrangement of the Pink Panther.

The Jazz Ensemble showcased a range of contemporary tunes including a test piece for The Generations in Jazz Music Festival to a compilation of toe tapping tunes from the Blues Brothers.

Our Wind Symphony played several pieces and concluded the night with The Best of James Bond.

Thank you to our Year 11 VET Music students who assisted front and backstage, also the Audio Visual department who provided a wonderful display of colour and lights to add the wonderful evening.

Thanks also to the College Leadership Team, and Ms Deborah Frizza for her welcoming address and presenting Max Hutson as the Music Captain for 2022.

A big thank you to our music staff, especially our instrumental music teachers.
