A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hi Everyone,

A warm welcome to term 4. Staff and students have settled back quickly and smoothly into the routine of school. The warmer weather is certainly making most of us smile.

NEXT WEEK

House Day

We have two major events, on Tuesday 22nd October  it is “House Day” and we are all going to Casey Fields for the whole school bike day. You should have received your notices by now and it is really important to ensure your child is provided with everything they need for the day. Last time we had a whole school bike day the weather was unkind, it rained and rained. We had a jumping castle and it quickly became a jumping pool, the students loved it! This time Lisa has ordered a jumping castle with a roof. Let’s hope it provides us with shade rather than shelter. I am taking my bike and will be riding with the students. It is a wonderful day and I know families appreciate the hard work that goes into organising and running these big events.

Party Party Party

On Friday night, 25th October, I expect to see most of you at our concert. Tickets have been selling fast and we have some families who have requested extra tickets. We will be allocating extra tickets early next week so please make sure you have bought your tickets by Friday this week to avoid the disappointment of missing out.

I would like to suggest that if your child is involved in a video performance on the night that you still consider coming to watch the concert with them because it is not only a wonderful night it is also an opportunity to teach appropriate behaviour when at the theatre.

END OF TERM

Head Start Program

Don’t forget that the last two weeks of term four is our head start program. The second last week we prepare the students for their move to their 2020 class and during the last week of term the students actually move to their 2020 classroom and where possible their new staff. Sometimes we have staff leave and in that case one of the specialist teachers will take the class but at least the students know their new room and classmates. This has proved very successful in promoting a happy and smooth start to the school year in the past. Each time we have done this we reflect and review how things have gone and make improvements. 2019 will be our third head start program.

I am reliably informed that if you are reading this on Thursday 17th October that there are only 69 sleeps until Christmas.

Cheers, Sue
