Class Clowns Competition
The Warrnambool College Class Clowns presented their hilarious routines on Wednesday 26th February after some insightful coaching by comedian Kirsty Webeck. Competing against other local up and coming young comedians the Welsford Auditorium was filled with giggles and guffaws! A fantastic effort by all who braved the stage to compete – Congratulations! Thank you to Kirsty for her time and advice and to the audience members who gave their support to the 2020 Class Clowns.
The winner on the night was Joel ‘MoonDawg’ Moon – Chookas Joel!
We wish you the very best at the Victorian State Final in Melbourne on Sunday March 22.
Student Leadership Congress 2020
On the 6th of March, six students representing the SEA team at Warrnambool College attended the Student Leadership Congress at Deakin University for 2020. During this day, we had the opportunity to meet and engage with a series of student leaders from the Warrnambool and Moyne areas. This event gave us a chance to listen and understand a number of inspirational speakers. This inspiration led us to collaboratively design a plan in regards to mental health and wellbeing issues in our community in 2020.
Various issues were discussed through our school leaders including but not limited to: Fundraising for disadvantaged students without access to essential school supplies; promoting school-wide mutual respect and further reinforcing our school values. Participating in this event was a valuable opportunity for our leaders to gain a further understanding of the issues surrounding health and wellbeing in the wider community and successfully providing innovative solutions to these
problems. Our overarching goal for the year of 2020 is to improve and expand upon the awareness and support provided to students with mental health and wellbeing issues as well as disadvantaged
students within the school environment.

Fishing Academy
Great start to our Fishing Academy last week with the Hopkins River serving up some excellent catches. Students were keen to make the most of each spot when the size of the Bream increased. With the same level of enthusiasm our Fishing Academy students will hopefully continue to reel 'em in!
