Performing Arts Programs

at Marlborough Primary School

Great News!  It is so exciting to communicate to our Marlborough Primary School community that we now have a school Choir.  At present it comprises students from Years 3-6.  This Sunday they are having their first public appearance at 'Heathmont 100 years Celebration - Family Fun Day' at HE Parker Reserve.  The MPS Choir will be performing at 1.00 pm and are singing two songs; 'I Am Australian' and 'Cover Me in Sunshine'.  Unfortunately the Year 5/6 choir members are at Somers' Camp and will miss the debut but I'm sure once they return we can showcase the Choir at our Assembly on Fridays.  A big thank you to Miss Pippa Davis teacher of 3/4A and Mrs. Amber Kim education support for their time, dedication and musical passion for conducting the Choir every Wednesday at Lunch.

JUST BRASS

Last Week, Brian Hogg our Brass Instrumental Teacher visited the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 classes to promote the benefits of playing a brass instrument.  Quite a few students were very interested.  Brian's lessons are free of charge.

The benefits of children learning to play a musical instrument :

Learning to play an instrument stimulates the brain cells, improving functions like memory and abstract reasoning skills, which are essential for math and science. Music, in general, helps bring balance and harmony in one's life. Children who learn to play an instrument have an outlet for creativity and their emotions.

DANCE GROUP

Dance Group is coming!  Next Monday at lunchtime, students will be able to attend a meeting to express their interest.  Thanks to Nat Arundel (Learning Tutor) for facilitating this amazing opportunity for our students.
