Middle Gully Update

Some of the children spotted this beautiful bird. Our resident nightly caretaker!!

Thanks very much to Deb, John, Felicity and Penny for coming along to Landcare last Thursday. It was a beautiful afternoon and the students were fantastic!

The nail string art looks great.

This Thursday we have 56AB.

56MS Landcare Report

On Thursday the 23rd of February, the grade 5/6 students went to Middle Gully for Landcare. It was a fun day!

Mr Ewels taught us how to open the black wattle seed pods. We opened the seed pods by sanding them down with sandpaper.

After that, Mr O showed us the garden bed’s soil was too dry to plant anything, so we moved moist dirt into the garden beds and watered the vegetables. We even washed and ate some carrots!

First of all, we sanded down our pieces of wood. Deb and Penny then showed us this cool craft activity where you first have to pick a design to draw onto your slab of wood, then hammer nails into the wood, then weave wool around the nails to finish the design. It ends up looking quite cool at the end result!

During Landcare our wonderful chickens came out from their pen to greet everyone. Some students went to look at them, and some even picked them up! Some of the chickens were really calm with us but others not as tame. Sadly we found no eggs.

Overall it was a fantastic day and everyone had so much fun!  🌱🥕🧶🐔
