STEM Update
This week in Digital Tech with our junior classes we spent some time on our laptops for the first time but, this can be trickier than it sounds.
First up... what's the deal with all the letters being in the wrong order (just ask your young people what a QWERTY is, they will hopefully be able to answer you), not to mention the finger gymnastics you have to do with a trackpad (our Preps our now masters at the 'one finger to move, to fingers to scroll' technique).
We also talked about how important it can be to stay safe when using the internet so we worked on creating our own Avatars (after we got over the fact that I wasn't talking about the big blue things from the movies) that we could use to share.
Oh, and I promised I would share the link with all the parents so they could make you into avatars at home, but a word of warning, they did find it incredibly fun to make an avatar of me completely bald (of which I am still having nightmares about)
