Principal's News

Where every child is known, challenged and supported to be lifelong learners.

Dear Parents, Friends and Families,

Hope you have had a terrific week.

SCHOOL FEES

School fee statements were sent out earlier this term. When they were sent out we asked for families to let us know how they were going to pay the fees eg direct debit, payment plan etc. Could you please send the Fee Payment Option form to Fiona: finance@sbmord.catholic.edu.au by Friday 10th of March 2023. This enables a clear understanding for us all regarding fee payment.

Thank you for your continued support in this matter.

DISTRICT SWIMMING CARNIVAL

On Wednesday our swimming team represented St Brigid’s at the District Swimming Sports at Noble Park Aquatic Centre.  The children have trained very hard and were well prepared and excited for the sports day. We were very proud of each and every student who swam  Their sportsmanship and their have a go attitude was wonderful to see (even in the rain!).

A special mention to Lucy W who came 3rd in the 12/13 girls freestyle and 3rd in the 12/13 girls Butterfly.

YEAR 4 EUCHARIST FAMILY NIGHT

It was lovely to see our Year 4 families at the Eucharist Family Night on Wednesday night. The night is such a wonderful time for parents to share thoughts about what Eucharist means to them and how we celebrate the Sacrament. What I enjoyed most about the night was the personal conversations between  the children and their parents as they shared their experiences about Eucharist.

A big thanks to Jodie who ran the session and gave the children such a clear understanding of what the Sacrament of Eucharist means.

Thanks to Cassie and Angela who stayed and supported Jodie on the night.

YEAR 3/4 LEVEL MASS & YEAR 4 EUCHARIST COMMITMENT MASS

Just a reminder that our Year 3/4 Level Mass & Eucharist Commitment Mass is on  Sunday -  5th March at St Brigid's Church.  I will be at the 8am Mass and Jodie, Angela and Cassie will be at the 11am Mass. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.

SCHOOL TOURS NOW OPEN FOR ENROLMENTS FOR 2024

Requests for School Tours have begun already! Enrolments for Foundation 2024 are now open and we encourage all families to submit their applications as soon as possible. Our families are our greatest advocates, so please keep spreading the word about our wonderful school to your friends and family. This is the time where we showcase to the community the great work we all do to make our school the best it is.

If you have a child or you know someone wanting to tour schools for their child, please encourage them to book a school tour by ringing Tracey in the front office for a school tour. If you are not able to make these tours please note that you are also welcome to call to make a time that does work for you.

We also ask our existing families with siblings coming to St Brigid’s  in 2024 to come and see us and we will give you an enrolment pack.  We are encouraging you to get your applications in early.

SCHOOL BOARD AND FUNDRAISING TEAM PHOTOS

We welcome our School Advisory Council members and Fundraising Team for 2023.  If you have any suggestions for either the council members or fundraising team please make sure you make yourself known to them and they will bring your thoughts and ideas to the respective meetings.

This year, we are going to incorporate an Easter Bonnet Parade into our Easter Egg Raffle. The parade  will occur at 9.00am on Thursday 6 April, so our bonnets are nice and fresh. Raffle tickets will be sent home with each student on  - Tuesday 14 March.

We will be wrapping the Easter Baskets on Tuesday 4th of April.  All Volunteers are most welcome.  We will post details closer to the time.

We will be asking for your Easter donations of eggs, baskets, bunnies, or anything thing else with an Easter theme starting the week of Tuesday 14 March. Remember to check the use before date before sending them to school as we cannot send out items that are expired.

Tickets are $1.00 each.  Families -  you keep one ticket stub and you return the other ticket stub to school - Don't forget to write your child's name and class on the ticket stubs that are to be returned to school.
