ERUDITION EXPO

A showcase of Year 9 Science Experimental Work

The Erudition Expo was a great success, with Year 9 students being able to explain the findings of their independent practical investigations to fellow students, teachers and expert judges from universities and industry.

The students were challenged to plan, undertake and present a practical investigation of their choice.

The Expo ran over three days in November, where students presented a TED talk or explained their scientific poster.  Below are the winners!

Day 1

Best Presentation – Peter Paladino, Cooper Van Den Brink and Natalia Waldroff (9E)

Best Scientific Poster –Alesia Jensen and Jesse Dooley (9A)

Day 2

Year 9 Science

The Year 9s have finished the year by, learning about different adaptations.

To ensure the learning was engaging, Mr Whitby visited some of the Science classes with the reptiles, so students could observe structural adaptations first hand.

Here are some photos of Mr Whitby visiting 9G.

9K Science

On Thursday 5 December, I had the pleasure of having Mr Whitby and the Reptile team come and present an 'Adaptations' lesson for my Science class - 9K.

The students learnt about the different ways reptiles adapt to their environments (structurally, behaviourally and physiologically).

It was brilliant!
