Year 9 Captains' Report

2018 is coming to an end for Year 9s.  We have had  many events held during the last few weeks and some  events still to come.

Two weeks ago, some of the Year 9 students participated in a camp to Tasmania for 5 days.  The camp was really good and we had some amazing experiences, like standing in the pitch black glow worm chamber as the worms lit up the cave like a starry night.  Getting up close to the Tasmanian Devils at the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo and hand feeding kangaroos. It was a fantastic experience and I'm glad that we got to do it with our friends.

Next year in May,  the Year 10 students have the opportunity to go to Central Australia for a 9 Day camp. This will be, a one in a lifetime experience travelling to the heart of Australia with your friends, learning about Australia's history and culture.  The first deposit is due by Friday 7 December on COMPASS.   So get in and secure a spot on camp.

Last Thursday, we had a fundraiser for Movember.  Students and staff were asked to wear Christmas socks and/or Christmas hat in exchange for a gold coin donation. Many teachers around the school have been playing their part in raising money and growing a mo. Our school has raised a total amount of $6,544.45 which has placed us in 8th spot on the School’s Challenge Leaderboard  out of 302 participating schools.  This is an amazing effort from everyone.

This Friday, the Year 9s will be participating in their first exams (Maths and English)  to help them prepare for the upcoming years.  So make sure you get some study and revision done to get the best mark on these exams.
