40 Year Reunion
Class of 1977
I can’t thank Denise, Damian and Pam enough for all they have done by making us feel so welcome. They all went to so much trouble, not only with the catering but all the memorabilia in the way of photos, uniforms, yearbooks. It was unbelievable and so great to see and I was amazed at how well the whole day went.
It was fascinating for me as it was my first time back to the school in 40 years. It was great to see all the new additions and renovations but it still had the same welcoming feel that it always had for me. I always had a ball at school, obviously having way too much fun which sadly reflected in my assessments and exam results!
It was the first time that most of the girls in our year had been up in the tower and I was impressed by the views that greeted us after the steep climb. We would like to thank Damian for all the information he shared with us.
Of course it was lovely to see so many from our year group attend the reunion. All up I think we had close to 50 people as many weren’t able to get to the school but joined us at the RSL. I spent many wonderful hours talking to some girls that I hardly recall talking to at school. It was an eye opener that we were able to chat so freely for so long and enjoy lots of memories. I do keep in touch with a good bunch of the girls and see some about once a year. We always have a ball when we catch up.
The room at the RSL was just perfect in which we had decorated and displayed our photos prior. The staff made us feel very welcome too, great finger food and drinks and they allowed us to party on until about 11 pm. It was then on to Bernie’s house, with some continuing on until after 5am!
We asked all who attended the reunion to complete a form to include all their contact details, and I plan to collate all the information and share with each other. This will be invaluable in another 10 years time when we do it all over again, although there was talk that they couldn’t wait till then and want to do it in five years .
Already I have heard that some of the girls who live near each other near Brisbane are planning to catch up and with Facebook it is already keeping us connected as we share our photos of the day with each other. We had created a Kilbreda 'Class of 77' Reunion Facebook page and now it is filling up with wonderful memories of our event.
Thank you to Denise for she did to help me get the reunion off the ground. I honestly don’t know how we could have done it all without her. It was so much appreciated.
