Acting Principal’s News

One of the highlights of the past month was our second Oakleigh Grammar Business Breakfast. Over 140 guests were in attendance to hear from special guests John Karagounis (CEO of the CEO Circle) and Scott Waters (former AFL player and Founder of Life Changer).  Both speakers spoke passionately about the importance of philanthropy in both their business and private lives. All in attendance also appreciated the opportunity to network during the breakfast.

I would especially like to acknowledge the parents on the Business Network organising committee for all their efforts: Vic Rajah, Helen Bauzon, Rob Keoylian, and George Giannaros, who were also supported by Zoe Taylor and members of the Executive.

There has been a lot of walking at Oakleigh these past two weeks. A group of enthusiastic Year 11 students and staff participated in this year’s Mother’s Day Classic around The Tan, for the Walking All Over Breast Cancer event. Close to $1400 has been raised for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

On Friday 18th May, 60 Junior School students and staff participated in the National Walk to School Day from Warrawee Park. We all enjoyed this community event which seeks to promote road safety, health, public transport and the environment.

We congratulate all our students that participated in the recent National Schools’ Event, which brings together students from all over Australia. Special acknowledgement goes to our Girls Volleyball and Table Tennis teams, who won their respective championships.
