Nunga News

Ninna marni (Hi, How are you?),

This week, Nunga Group are joining Henley Beach Primary Schools Nunga Group and are heading off to Adelaide Parklands for the Kids on Country cultural excursion. They will learn more about their heritage through art, music, weaving and Wodli building. Students have the opportunity to talk with Kaurna Elders about the local area and go on a bush tour.

The Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group met last week to further develop the schools RAP. One of the actions in the RAP is to Invite a Kaurna Elder to do a Welcome to Country at significant events at the school. We are lucky enough to have Aunty Elaine, a Kaurna Elder, coming to our sports day this Friday to give a Welcome to Country to complement the new Kaurna names we have for our school houses. Let’s hope the rain stays away this sports day!

Nakutha (Bye)
