2022 Murdoch District Winter Sport Lightning Premiership

Last Friday all of our awesome Year 6 students played their Lightning Premiership in either football, netball, newcombe, soccer or t-ball.

Netball: There were lots of smiles, laughter, competitiveness, fun and sportsmanship on show throughout the day and overall the netball teams played so well. They were resilient and challenged their opponents in every game. Each game they got better and better and worked really well as a team, making sure that they were supportive of each other.

Netball Girls:  The girls netball team won 3 games and drew 1 out of 6 games.

Netball Mixed: The mixed netball team won 3 games and drew 1 out of 7 games.

Australian Football: The boys put in a great effort throughout their five games.  By the end of the day they were running out of legs because of all their running, tackling and goal kicking but pushed through until the end. They were supportive of each other, they shared the ball a lot and did themselves proud. They ended up winning 2 out of the 5 games which was a great result. Well done boys.

Newcombe: The team had an amazing day today with so much laughter and jokes even whilst competing.  Once again the team were victorious, bringing home the trophy, but above all they are the most amazing, respectful and caring bunch of kids.

Soccer: The team performed admirably today, winning three of the five games they played. Everyone showed great resolve after losing the first two games to win the next three games, finishing third in their division.

T-Ball: The boys were up against it from the start, having two less players than needed. However, this only strengthened their resolve. From the very first strike the boys put in a terrific effort, sweeping all in their path. After the perfect final game, they came home undefeated with a brand new trophy!

Each team showed terrific sportsmanship throughout the day, encouraging themselves and the opposition. The teachers are very proud of all the students who competed today.

A massive thank you to all the parents who helped out leading up to the Lightning Premiership and on the day as well. We appreciate everyone who coached, refereed and cheered the kids on.
