Homework

Foundation students are now bringing home a decodable reader twice a week. Students are expected to read this each night for three nights, becoming more independent each time. This book should be easy for your child as they consolidate skills already taught at school. We encourage parents to also ask the comprehension questions at the end of the readers. Books are changed over on a Monday and Thursday.

Students will also continue to bring home sets of tricky words as they are taught in class. Please help your child read these and complete come of the recommended activities on the back of the cards.  

As well as reading their decodable reader, we encourage that students are reading for and listening to a story for enjoyment each night. This could be a book from the school library, a local library or a favourite from home.

Finally, please continue to log your child's reading in their yellow reading log books.
