Humanties & Science

Taught through Investigation Time

This term our Inquiry unit is called Going Global. The key understanding of this unit is exploring where we belong in our personal world  and how we contribute to our sense of citizenship. The classrooms have specific investigation areas that link to the Humanities and Science concepts we will be teaching based on this unit of learning. These include a travel agent, school, airport, post office, school and park.

Each classroom will also have other areas set up that specifically target Literacy and Numeracy skills or other special interests amongst the students.

The children will explore content that answer the following questions.

  • What connections do I have to a place?
  • What are the features of places we visit?
  • Where in the world do I live?
  • How is Australia connected to other places?
  • What makes a place special?

This will culminate in a Billanook Commonwealth Games day run by our students.

Students will also begin Fundamental Motor Skills (FMS) in Term 3.
