Winter Concerts Wrap-Up

Congratulations to all our student musicians who performed in the Winter Concerts on the evening of 7 June. One concert sold out and the other was almost at capacity. It was wonderful to see so many parents and friends coming along to celebrate live music and the musical development of our ensembles. Despite a few nerves on the night, events such as this give such a boost to student confidence. We were informed by some happy parents that a few students went home and did more playing after the concert!

Special congratulations on the debut performances of the Beginner Band, Euphonix, Junior Strings, Stage Band, and soloists Kieran Chan (drums) and Belle Shi (violin).

The Music Department would like to thank the EDSC Parents and Friends Association who added to the great sense of community on the night by providing food between the concerts.

Our next full Music Department concerts are the Spring Concerts held at the start of Term 4.

Performance by Colorado Children’s Chorale

Year 7 and 8 Instrumental Music students were privileged to watch a special performance by the Colorado Children’s Chorale on their Australian tour on the last day of term. This group performed at EDSC in 2017, and they enjoyed performing for our students in the PAC so much they specifically asked if they could visit us again this year.

The touring ensemble of nearly 60 children entertained our students with a variety of songs, and was an inspiring and enjoyable way to finish a very musically productive semester for our young musicians.

With your gift of $300 (Premium Seat in the front section of the theatre)  or $250 (General Seating) each, you can play your part in continuing to upgrade and create a state-of-the-art facility for use by our students, as well as the wider community.
