Respectful Relationships ‘Q and A’ with special guest, Rosie Batty.

East Doncaster Secondary College is delighted to host 2015 Australian of the Year, Rosie Batty, for an important discussion during ‘Respectful Relationships’ week 2022.

Rosie will provide a keynote address, before joining a distinguished panel of experts onstage for a ‘Q and A’ conversation to discuss all things ‘respectful relationships,’ and how you as parents/carers can have these important conversations with your children.

NAIDOC Week (3rd-10th July)

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. You can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country.

International Non-Binary People's Day (14th July)

We celebrate those who are non-binary, the rich diversity of gender and celebrate people who do not fit into a binary gender. In really simple terms, a non-binary person is someone who does not identify as exclusively a man or a woman. Someone who is non-binary might feel like a mix of genders, or like they have no gender at all.

Using correct pronouns is important. Many non-binary people prefer the pronouns they/them/their.

Takeover Melbourne Writing Competition

Takeover Melbourne is an exciting competition from the ABC, calling for stories from high school aged students in Greater Melbourne. And we want to hear from you!
