Music

Our Primary Music classes have been focused on preparing for two major events as we draw closer to the end of the year.

One by one, our students have stood in front of the microphone to have their voices recorded for the Annual Christmas Carols event on 14 December.

It's truly commendable to see the efforts each of the students (led by their teachers) have invested in learning their chosen carol.  Their performances at the microphone are inspiring and commited.  Whilst their classmates sit quietly and principled, waiting for their turn.  As we combine their voices in the final recording, it's an encouraging reminder of the talent each of our students has.  We are in store for a great event.

Our Year Six students have also been hard at work preparing their musical numbers for their upcoming Year Six Graduation on 8 December.  The students have agreed to prepare and perform two songs.  The first song is turning out to be a full-scale production piece, with a number of students volunteering to re-write the lyrics to be more suited to what they have experienced in their learning-journey at Saltwater, whilst another small group decided to prepare a multimedia presentation that will be projected on the screens whilst they perform.  This is a fitting example of student-led learning from the leaders of our Primary School.

Our school choir has continued to meet on Fridays during their lunch break.  Each student is singing with so much passion, and they hope to share what they have practiced with the wider school community at an upcoming School Assembly.
