STATEWIDE PRINCIPALS CONFERENCE

For many years, the Department of Education Training has run an annual Principals Conference, providing a great opportunity for our leaders to explain system wide priorities and for the sharing of best practice.  Unfortunately the conference was unable to go

ahead in 2020 and 2021 due to covid, making this year’s conference more special.

In part, the conference focussed on what has been learnt over the past 2 years and how that informs our work as we move into a post-covid era.  Clearly schools across the state continue to face significant challenges, including staffing pressures and struggles with mental health. These are significant issues and will be the focus of attention over the next couple of years.  There are some big changes happening in the area of Disability and Inclusion, so much of the conference focussed on this important work.

The conference themes were relevant to all schools and attendees left with a clear picture of core work for the next few years.

Winter Coats

We are certainly going through a cold patch  and some of you will be thinking about purchasing a coat for your child.  Please remember that if a child wears a coat, a school coat or black coat is recommended. School coats are available from the uniform shop.

All uniforms can be purchased using Qkr, in which case we deliver the purchased item to your child.  If you’d like to come in with your child to try things for size, please call the ladies in the office to arrange a time.

THANKS GLEN

Glen Wood Lake is a local author, and last week she visited to donate copies of her latest book, “I Love the Mount’.  The story centres around Mt Buninyong and is a perfect picture story book for our library.  Glen is pictured presenting copies of her book to Kim (our librarian) and our school captains.
