Foundation Miss Bennett

Wow what a SUPER-STAR term in Foundation. The students have all come such a long way, we can't wait to see what fun they get up to in Term 2.

The last couple of weeks the Foundation students have been tying up all of the loose ends with their learning by finishing their 'Lent and Easter' unit, their unit on 'time' and their learning of the letter sounds M, S, F, A, P, T, C, I. Some highlights in Foundation over the past 2 weeks are:

- Having the CFA and Policeman Tim visit us.

- Playing with the BeeBots in STEM.

- The Caritas Coin Line.

- Our inquiry celebration: Safe/Unsafe

- Easter Bonnet parade.

- Milla bringing Easter Eggs to share.

Have an amazing Easter break and enjoy the school holidays! Miss Bennett can't wait to see everyone back and refreshed in Term 2.

Grade 1-2 Miss Hayes

Maths

In Grade 1/2 we have loved exploring patterns. We have created patterns of our own, looked and found patterns in our environment and continued patterns made by our peers. We have also investigated number patterns, where we have found the rule e.g. plus 2 when looking at a skip counting pattern.

Literacy

During our 'Feathers for Phoebe' unit we have been working on writing a description for the 'New Phoebe'. Over the past few weeks we have learnt a lot about adjectives and noun phrases. Now we have been focusing on taking this knowledge and using it to write complete sentences.Below are some of our sentences:

Alex - Phoebe has fluffy wings.

James - Phoebe has two big wings.

Phoebe - Phoebe has long, fancy, shiny, orange wings.

Addison - She has bright colourful wings.

Hudson - The new Phoebe has marvellous long wings.

Arabella - The new Phoebe is colourful and bright.

Eden - Phoebe has a long and bright tail.
