Welcome back to Term 2 everyone! Hope you had a nice break over the Easter holiday. It is the middle of the Cherry blossom known as Sakura season at the moment in Japan. Each year, people in Japan gather together to watch the sakura bloom from March through May and observe how at the peak of their beauty and sometimes have a picnic among friends and family. Springtime is a time of change, new beginnings, and renewal. The school year ends end in March and the new year begins in April. Companies also follow a similar calendar. The spring is a very important time for farmers to make preparations for planting rice. Soon after this Cherry blossom event, we have Children's Day on the 5th of May.

In this term, we have many events to introduce to students including Cherry blossom viewing called "Hanami", Children's Day called "Tangono sekku", Mother's Day called "Haha no hi", and Start Festival called "Tanabata". I am excited to show and make those cultural events so special for our students.

The target language for this month is また らいしゅう "mata raishuu" which means 'See you next week!'

Do not hesitate to ask any questions!
