Student Wellbeing

Welcome to Term 2!

I hope everyone managed to have a restful holiday, and hopefully, you all managed to catch some of that beautiful sunshine we have been having! It was so amazing to see the students return to school, happy and excited to start another term! This term is only nine weeks, however, we are jam-packed with lots of great things on!

Friendship Groups

We are looking forward to another great term of Friendship Groups, which will occur weekly! Our first Friendship Groups will be on Monday 8th May. This term for Friendship Groups, we will be developing our resilience skills and understanding of social skills and cues.

Respectful Relationships

At St Joseph's, we also engage with Respectful Relationships, which is a program that promotes and models respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence. The theme we are all looking at in this term is 'Problem Solving'. We will be developing strategies for dealing with problems and working out how small or big a problem may be.

PBL

For PBL this week and next week, we are having a general look at our behaviour matrix and reminding ourselves how to be Respectful, Responsible and Resilient inside and outside the classroom! We are also looking at our Behaviour Flow Chart and how that can be implemented to help teach students the expected behaviour expectations. Seeing all the amazing whole-body listening and lining up the students has been doing has been wonderful!

St. Johns Ambulance First Aid Training

You may have noticed on the public calendar a titled event called 'St John Ambulance First Aid Training'. We are really excited to announce that on the 5th of May, all students will be undertaking a first aid incursion. Each year level completes a different incursion lesson and develops skills and First Aid awareness to contribute to building a more resilient community.
