Craft

Craft Newsletter Term Two, May 2023

Students are working towards completing the various projects they started in term one. Foundation students have completed their stitched hessian bags. They are now learning how to do finger knitting that will be used as a handle for their bags. Class one and two students have completed their recorder bags and are using their French-knitting  for the recorder handles.

Class three students are working towards completing their knitting projects in the next week. These will be made into individual objects as discussed with the teacher and student. Students in the three/four class are also casting off their knitting to complete their individual projects.

Students in five/six have been working on an art refugee project that will go on display at Climart, a gallery in Richmond. More information coming out on Compass.  All students in craft will also be working on their clay projects, driven by their main lesson themes.

To support student learning, parents are invited to assist in the art room. You will need a current Working With Children Check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.

Craft Group

The TPS community craft group is up and running again. This has always been a great way for our parents, grandparents and carers to meet other community members in a creative space, to create craft things to sell at our next BBQ or Art festival. If you are interested in picking up a new skill or would like to share a skill, then this would be perfect for you. Your toddlers are also welcome to join you in the art room.  Please contact Merrin for further information. memlayden@gmail.com

Thank you,
