Staff News

We are sad to let you know that Ella Livett, one of our Secondary Maths and Science teachers, will be finishing up with us at the end of this term; we wish her all the best over the coming months as she settles back into family life with her young sons. However, we might still see Ella around when she does some CRT duties for us. We are pleased to let you know that Katrina Ford will be joining the Secondary team to replace Ella’s teaching role for the rest of this year.

We are also looking forward to Sharon Witt returning in Term 3 after extended long service leave. Sharon will be coming into our Secondary EAL role as Carolyn Connelly steps back from this area to concentrate on her Learning Support work.

We are thankful that God continues to provide the staff that we need just at the right time, and that we can support our staff as they balance the changing needs of work and family.

Indigenous Awareness and Reconciliation

Last week our students showed their support for ‘Children’s Ground’, a charity supporting young indigenous children. By wearing yellow and donating to this charity, we were able to reflect the commitment that our school has to indigenous understanding and reconciliation. During Term 3, we will celebrate our own NAIDOC week, which will provide another opportunity for our students to reflect, learn and contribute to what our ‘Acknowledgment of Country’ encourages us to do –

“We pray for, and are committed to, the journey of healing, reconciliation and restoration.”

Fee Statements

After some substantial delays and problems in the implementation of our new finance system, you will receive a fee statement in the next week. We appreciate those of you who have still kept up with fee payments in the first half of the year, but please see this as a friendly reminder to attend to this important aspect of our partnership together if you have fallen behind. We hope all fee payments will be up to date by the beginning of Term 3.

Long Weekend

It has been a busy term and the winter weather is starting to bite, particularly first thing in the morning! So make sure you enjoy the long weekend as a pre-taster for the holidays to come. It might be the ‘rest day’ we all need to finish the term well!
