Captain's Report

Only two weeks to go!

I can’t believe how fast this term has gone, so much has happened, with school cross country, idahobit day and numerous excursions across the different year levels. The past couple weeks have been very busy for us year 12s, with so many SACs to complete before the end of Unit 3, but we are holding up ok :)

To those who are keen to get involved in the Heathmont Journalism Team, watch for a compass post (coming soon!), to invite you to our next meeting. We are specifically looking for students who would be interested in investigating, writing, and reporting on events for the Gazette; to help it become more student run, something I am very keen to see happen!!

Well done to the Theatre studies class, who put on ‘Romeo and Juliet Goes Wrong’ last week. I’m sure all who went to see it would agree, it was fabulous!

Looking forwards to the holidays,

This term was an exciting one for the performing arts.

Production on the school film has begun, with many talented students pitching in to represent the school with a helping of humour and charm. People from every year level are working hard to make it the very best it can be and are all so excited to show off their work so far.

But it wasn’t just film that had it’s time in the spotlight this term. VCE theatre studies got the chance to perform “Romeo and Juliet Goes Wrong”, a production of their own design for a wonderful audience in the HOPE centre. The production went wonderfully (wonderfully wrong that is) and was incredibly fun for the whole cast to perform.

There are still so many things to look forward to in the arts, such as our upcoming art auction, talent show and participation in this year’s state school spectacular. The arts at Heathmont is growing and presenting so many opportunities for students from all across the school to come together.

We're all looking forward to the future!
