Art Classroom

Last month I showed you the wonderful work that my year 7’s was working on for their collaborative class mural task. I wanted to post final images that give you a sense of scale of the work they completed. Here you see my wonderful year 7’s pointing to their own specific piece of the puzzle. These works are currently located in the library for the whole school community to enjoy. Thanks Allan, Kyan, Tyler, Brad and Adelita for showing us the size of the work and their specific piece.

7A’s mural was based on Matisse’s painting called the “Open window”. 1905.

Year 9 Visual Arts

Students in year 9 have explored the art works of Julian Opie and Gustav Klimt. They have studied the artist’s style that makes their portraits unique and subsequently incorporated this knowledge in their own work. Students were required to include some elements of their selected artist’s work into their own portrait which was open to interpretation. This resulted in some very creative pieces of work. Some students choose to complete a self portrait while other opted to paint their friend. Overall, I’m sure you will agree that they have produced some interesting works of art.
