School Tours at the College

It was great to see the uptake of our advertised school tours on Monday the 22nd of May. Parents who were unable to attend our 2024 Year 7 and Foundation tours are able to book a tour at any time with the front office on 55851277.

A big thank you goes to our primary School captains and Mr Frost, who met the families and took them on a tour through the school. Families got to see the classrooms that their children would be taught in and were also taken for a tour to look at where all the electives are taught. The electives that all students do starting in Foundation are Textiles, Woodwork, Food and Digital. They get to do Agriculture all the way through primary and lower secondary. We also offer instrumental lessons for all students at the college.

After the school tours everybody met in the Home Eco room for a bit of a chat, giving parents the opportunity to ask any questions about their tour, the curriculum, and electives that we offer our students. Families also got to taste some of the famous ‘Bill Anson’ lemonade scones, that were cooked that morning in the food room’s convection oven by the principal. We won’t mention the last lot of lemonade scones I cooked in the convection oven were accidently cooked twice as long as were required, they were a tad overdone, but made lovely rock cakes.

We will be announcing dates for information nights for 2024 Year 7 and our Foundation students and their families soon.

Edenhope College Yarning Circle

We are extremely pleased to announce that the school has won a grant to put in a yarning circle that overlooks the lake (near the science wing). The inclusion of a yarning circle is a significant one as we’ve been wanting to raise the awareness of aboriginal culture and heritage. We’re currently looking at designs for the yarning circle, which will include an 80 metre path, the ‘yarning circle’, a native garden, some local red gum slabs and Mt Arapiles stone for seating. It will be a place for curriculum to be taught or a quiet reflective place for all to sit at. When we have an opening of the yarning circle, all local schools will be invited to participate.
