IN OUR CLASSROOMS - MATHS

This week I got a chance to see some amazing graphing work from some of our Prep students.

They were working in groups to use a spinner. They were then recording where the spinner landed by marking off on a column graph. There was lots of chatter amongst the students who were loving the task and able to read from their graphs telling me which column had the least, which column had the most and what the totals were.  What great learning by students who have only been at school for 7 weeks!

I was also invited down to the Year 3 classrooms where students were working in teams creating a mini golf course to show their knowledge of shapes and angles.  The rooms were abuzz with excitement as students were planning and designing and had begun the process of building their courses.  I am looking forward to playing a round of mini golf with them when the task is complete.

POLICIES

The Education sub- committee is a sub-committee of School Council. The primary task of this committee is to oversee the WHPS policies and update, revise and adopt new polices. In line with Departmental of Education and Training (DET) framework and guidelines these are done on a cyclical basis.

You do not need to be a member of School Council to join the Education sub-committee.  Much of our work is done via email.  If you would like to be a member of this committee please email me and I can provide further information.
