Respectful Relationships: Student Forum

On Tuesday 4/9/18, five of our students were involved in supporting students from 15 other ‘partner schools’ to develop their understanding and to lead the students in their school settings in Respectful Relationships. They ran workshops and mentored the students throughout the day at Laverton P-12 College.

They were also presented with the work they had completed on their forum day. An A-Z poster and another poster highlighting their slogans to promote Respectful Relationships.

A huge thank you to Liz and Elysia in supporting these students!

ENVISION: Helping Hands Project

On Thursday 30th August the students were involved in a collection drive to collect as many bottle tops as possible to help support the Helping Hands Project. 4kgs of bottle tops were collected!!

Envision’s mission is to create 100 prosthetic hands with 3D printers, which they will then donate completely free of charge, to children in war torn countries that are missing limbs.  This is how they’re doing it;

Inspired by the Enabling the Future organisation they will be participating in the world wide community making and donating 3D printed prosthetic hands/arms for children in need across under-serviced countries. The major difference is their project will be using recycled plastic from bottle tops, thus also benefiting the environment.

This has inspired the students so much that they will now be producing different products using 3D printers in Term 4.
