Our structure of the 10 Mathematics Sessions within our fortnightly timetable is as follows:

  • 4 Sessions allocated to explicit teaching and Rich Tasks/Lessons.
  • 4 Sessions allocated to the completion of Modules/Revision of Modules.
  • 2 Session allocated to the completion of Tests.
  • Mathematics Rich Tasks focusing on: Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Algebra and Measurement are related to the real world. These tasks have multiple points of entry catering for the ability of each student.
  • Students are encouraged to think, problem solve and develop independent working skills.
  • Teachers spend less time lecturing and more time with individuals.
  • Students develop a growth mindset and believe they can be successful in mathematics.
  • Students are required to complete 2 modules and any Rich Tasks as homework by the dues dates given.
