From the Head of Primary

When we love, we go the extra mile…
As we continue to build positive relationships this term, our focus for the fortnight is Love.
- God’s love for us, from Romans 5:8, But God demonstrates his own love for us, in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- Love of Learning: A passion for learning and a desire to learn for learning’s sake.
When we love, we go the extra mile…
At School this week we are discussing a love of learning and the way in which our children can engage with learning and how to hold onto that learning and deepen it. Love, when learning has important motivational consequences because it helps us to persist through challenges, setbacks and negative feedback. When we love, it helps us to go the extra mile.

Life Education
This week our children have continued to enjoy their visits to the Life Education Van. Life Education is all about children making safer and healthier choices through education. Use the comments that the children make after their visit to further explore topics of interest, make connections between learning at home and school and to instil safe expectations for your child. Parent resources are available on the Life Education website: https://www.lifeeducation.org.au/parents/
HRIS Swimming
Good Luck to our HRIS Swimmers, heading to Newcastle on Wednesday. Swim well and have a great time representing Calrossy.
Assistance from Staff
From time to time, staff are away, and you may not know who to contact if there has been an issue with your child at school. Each Stage has a Stage Co-ordinator who oversees two year groups. These staff members are only too happy to assist, pass on information or provide an ear if needed.
Early Stage One | Prep and Kindergarten | Mrs Kim Bargwanna |
Stage One | Year One and Year Two | Mrs Linda Wilson |
Stage Two | Year Three and Year Four | Mrs Beth Dalitz |
Stage Three | Year Five and Year Six | Mrs Ruth Allum |
Seesaw
We hope you’re enjoying the journey with us and are receiving updates from Seesaw showing you the learning in your child’s classroom. If you haven’t connected yet and would still like to, please contact your child’s class teacher.
