What I Love about Teaching:

I enjoy the potential to be able to support, guide, encourage and support children through the most exciting and challenging times of their childhood. This is a huge responsibility and one that I enjoy every day.

I thoroughly enjoy getting to know students very well. Girton provides many different opportunities to staff and students, and this allows me to build rapport and relationships with a range of different students in different settings.

What do you like best about the subject/s you teach?

The best part about being part of the Learning Resource Centre and supporting students, is that you can see the difference you make with the students throughout the year.

My favourite classroom activity:

I love using Spelling Blocks! This allows students to get ‘hands on’ with Literacy and break down the sounds and/or syllables.

What difference can good teaching make?

Good teaching can make a massive difference in the life of each students. This allows the students to enjoy learning and develop a drive to want to be a life long learner. This love of learning stems from good teaching, good report and a supportive environment.

Other Hats:

Since 2012 I have coached basketball. Through this, I have coached U14 Country Victoria teams and Bendigo Junior Braves teams.

Since beginning at Girton, I have taken on a coaching role in the Girton Basketball Club where I have enjoyed coaching students at a domestic level.
