WHEELERS EPLATFORM

With holidays nearly here students might like to access ebooks and audiobooks from Wheelers ePlatform. It was fantastic to see a significant increase in student usage of Wheelers during our period of remote learning. Wheelers have a large range of titles that cater for all reading tastes and new ebooks and audiobooks are added each month. The Wheelers ePlatform is easy to use and a convenient way to access books.

Wheelers ePlatform can be accessed here https://mckinnonsc.wheelers.co/ and students log in with the McKinnon account.

Download the Wheelers ePlatform App to access books on your phone or tablet.

NEW BOOK BY SARAH EPSTEIN - DEEP WATER

Deep Water is the second book written by Australian author Sarah Epstein. Her first book was critically acclaimed Small Spaces. Deep Water is a well-paced YA mystery set in a typical Australian small town where the locals all know each other. Henry Weaver has been missing for three months after a violent storm in their town, The Shallows. Chloe Baxter wants answers and is determined to unearth the truth. Deep Water is packed with secrets, lies and mystery and keeps you guessing until the end. The characters are vivid and compelling and they face teen issues such as first love, the dangers of the internet and family issues.

I read this one in a weekend - highly recommended by Mrs Watson

BOOK SUGGESTIONS AND RESERVATIONS

A book suggestion form has now been added to the library homepage. Students can complete the Google form to suggest new books for the library.

Remember, students can also place reservations on books via the library catalogue. You can search by title or author and reserve your book even if it is available on the shelf. Then wait for an email stating your book is available for collection.

DIGITAL DISPLAY

An addition to the library in the last fortnight has been the functionality to screen digital displays on our TV monitor. This has given library staff the ability to promote books and reading and also information about library services to our students. At the moment we are promoting new books and books related to Refugee Week and Reconciliation Week.

Enjoy your break.
