SPANISH VOLUNTEER ASSISTS IN SPANISH CLASSES

On Tuesday 16 June, I was given the opportunity to meet and work with McKinnon's Year 9 Spanish class. The students were preparing to present their oral scripts, which they had all entirely written in Spanish. Working together, we proofread, practiced and recorded their presentations for the term.

Considering their interruption to the year, I was super impressed by the high level of speaking, pronunciation and comprehension the students possessed. It was incredible to see how much Spanish the Year 9s have learnt in less than a year.

Thank you, Year 9 Spanish students for giving me such a warm welcome! I am excited to continue working with you throughout Term 2 and 3.

FAREWELL TO OUR GERMAN ASSISTANT

I would like to thank our German assistant, Antje Rehse, who supported our students in developing their oral communication skills in Semester 1. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, her family is forced to return to Germany in July. We wish Antje and her family all the best for the future and hope to stay in touch with her. Thank you for the contributions you made to the stundents´ learning of German. You will be greatly missed.

Following our current COVID-19 restrictions, the Goethe Institut developed an international streaming service that delivers cultural experiences into your living room. Check out live concerts, movies, puppet theatre from the kitchen or live acts from the Berlin club scene. Organisers are free to submit their events and open them to international audiences.
