Early Stage 1 News

An update from Kindy Land

What an amazing first few weeks this has been for our Kindergarten classes. We are all so proud of the transition our students have made and would like to thank all of you for your support and communication so far. It is fantastic to have families that are engaged in our school and I encourage this relationship to continue to grow.

There are so many things to celebrate with each child having their own individual little and big wins so far. From saying goodbye to their most loved ones on our first few days, to packing bags and unwrapping sandwiches, we have seen huge leaps in independence and confidence.

We also have a number of things to look forward to. Soon our little ones will begin to read their first ever books, write their first words and at the end of the term attend an excursion to Jarjums on Country. The day will see students split into groups for various cultural activities. Prior to the excursion, classes will take part in a cultural lesson taught by our Aboriginal Education Team and will reflect on the concept of lore, country and respect. Further information will be sent home in the coming weeks. We are also looking forward to a visit from Gumnuts, the educational speaker from Redbus, who will discuss safe travel and road safety with our kids.

Thank you to all the parents and carers that have made contact to volunteer in the class and broader school setting. We would encourage you to contact your classroom teacher or the front office if you would also like to be involved in the many opportunities at Brooke Avenue Public School.

Warmest regards,

Tane Duff and the Kindy Team
