Sport and PE Report

School Athletics Carnival

On Monday 20th May, all students from Years 3 – 6 headed to the Tom Kelly Athletics Track in Doncaster to compete in the School Athletics Carnival. All students selected five track or field events to compete in, some of which were held in the prior weeks at school.

It was so fantastic to see all the students decked out in their house colours and cheering for their fellow housemates. The winning house will be announced at the next school assembly, which will be from a collection of points earnt at both the Junior and Senior Athletics!

A huge thank-you to Mrs Thwaites and Mr Reg (our former principal) for assisting me with the set up and pack up, and to all of the wonderful staff and parents who assisted in making this day run so smoothly. It definitely couldn’t have been done without you.

Our school team will now be picked for the District Athletics on Thursday 5th September.

District Cross Country

On Friday 17th May, 56 students across Years 3 – 6 competed in the North Balwyn District Cross Country held at Macleay Park. Students were selected based on their excellent results in the school cross country earlier in the term. All students participated in training sessions held before school on Mondays and Wednesdays in the lead up to the day to improve their fitness.

Boroondara Park finished 3rd overall out of the 15 schools that competed on the day, which is a fantastic achievement.

Congratulations to these students who finished in the top 15 of their race and will now compete in the Division event at Ruffey Lake Park on Thursday 30th May.
