Acting Principal's Report

Respectful Relationships

The Royal Commission into Family Violence identified the critical role that schools and early childhood education have in creating a culture of respect to change the story of family violence for future generations.

Respectful relationships education has now became a core component of the Victorian Curriculum from Foundation to year 12, and is being taught in all government and Catholic schools and many independent schools.

Everyone in our community deserves to be respected, valued and treated equally. We know that changes in attitudes and behaviours can be achieved when positive attitudes, behaviours and equality are embedded in our education settings.

Respectful Relationships is about embedding a culture of respect and equality across our entire school, from our classrooms to staffrooms, sporting fields, and social events. This approach leads to positive impacts on student’s academic outcomes, their mental health, classroom behaviour, and relationships between teachers and students.

At Concord School we have incorporated the Respectful Relationships program into our Social Skills Curriculum for 2019.

Parking

As parents or carers who drive their child to Concord School will have noticed, we have building works at our back gate. We ask that when dropping your child off at school you do so as quickly and safely as possible so as to allow others to do the same.

Student Drop Off Times.

Please be aware that as a school we do not assume responsibility for students who arrive prior to 8:45am. If parents or carers need to drop off their child prior to this time arrangements should be made with our before school program (Carmel in the office will be able to help with this)
